Region residents are invited to join staff and visitors next month at the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore Visitor Center in Porter County for free screenings of three documentaries: Everglades of the North: The Story of the Great Kankakee Marsh on Sunday, January 7; Tuskegee Airmen: Sacrifice and Triumph on Sunday, January 14; and Shifting Sands: On the Path to Sustainability on Sunday, January 28. All screenings begin at 2:00 pm.
Shifting Sands: On the Path to Sustainability tells the local story of trying to balance the protecting of globally rare habitat and creating thousands of jobs in steel mills. Recent success stories of collaboration are highlighted.
